Septic finally operational...

The plumber came and installed the lateral between the house and septic yesterday. Now we can flush, etc.



Today it stormed briefly, and we even got a bit of tiny hail.



I cleaned up the part of the basement that will be my office and got my main desk assembled. Hopefully the satellite Internet will be installed soon!

We have running water!

Fred and I finished connecting the water heater and the water softner, and also connected the well to the rest of the plumbing. This was a lot of work, because our plumber walked off the job a while ago, and the part of what they had done needed to be re-done, since they did not plan for a water softner although we had told them that it was a requirement.

More done!

We got the rest of the sheathing up today and the remaining patio door! (photos by Victoria and Emily)

Busy day today!

We managed to frame a wall and install a patio door, even though we took time out to hide geocaches for the kids. Once again Fred was a great help, and Don even stopped by with beer and to offer "support" (he literally held up the door while we screwed it in!). Many walls and one more patio door to go!

Well and pump hook-up, Part 1

The well guy came and installed the pressure tank. A little bit of plumbing and electrical work is left and then we'll have water.

More snow.

Hmmm... Mid March is almost spring some places, but not in Wisconsin.

Plumbing and Moving

I finally got some pictures of the plumbing work that was done last week.



Also, thanks to a huge crew of volunteers, we got much of our stuff that was in storage moved into the basement of the new house. The big pile represents three pickup loads, two large trailer loads, and a small trailer load. Loading took a while, but unloading went very fast! Thanks again to everyone who helped!
