"Dada bye-bye".
Yesterday (March 29th), Henry made his first leap into the next stage of language development. He put two words together, like a short sentence. He was referring to Tom having just gone down to his office after lunch. :)

Our apologies...
we have been experiencing technical difficulties. We have not been able to upload pictures since switching to the new version of "blogger". We have many waiting to be shared, but enough of the silence! I'll just have to communicate with WORDS instead. Strange...
Last update was January 16th. Wow. Almost 2 months. Instead of trying to do things chronologically and getting mired in "which happened first", I'll just try to list the things I remember.
As of February 20th, Henry is 18 months old. Wow. As of his 18-month checkup, he weighs 24 lbs and is 31 inches tall.
A list of words Henry says: mama, dada, no, hot, hat, green (we recently painted our living room green--it helped), sit, butt (2 important ones to know for going down his newly-acquired slide), stop, go (thanks chiefly to the book, "Go, dogs! Go!"), hi, bye, up, down, on, off, more (related to "more food"), kitty (when he sees one in a book, he puts his face on the page like he's snuggling it), good girl (which is what he probably thinks is our dog, Munch's, name), baby, ball, bear, eye, star, pie, zoo, slide, and bug.
And, Henry has given a name to his buddy, Ava. I call her Ava Lou, though that's not her middle name, I just like adding "Lou" to people's first names. Anyway, he has picked up on the "l" sound of Lou, and now refers to her as "l l l l l". It's especially cute since that's how Grace McDougal (3 years old) said my name, til very recently. :)
Since mid-January, we've been on a few road trips: Woodstock, IL (visiting Auntie Lori and Uncle A); Dayton, OH (work trip for Tom--Henry and I tagged along); and North Freedom, WI (Mid-Continent Railway). Henry was a great traveler. Photos to follow!
Henry has also made a new friend in the neighborhood. Cameron is around Henry's age, and we've sure enjoyed getting together with him and his Mom, Tammy, for playtime. The boys keep us running. :)
Tom's been working on the pic-posting problem, and tells me there's light at the end of the tunnel. We may be able to post pictures in the next couple weeks. Tune in for a huge update, maybe toward the end of the month.
