Six months old!

In honor of his six-month birthday Monday, Henry took his first "crawl step" for his Mom and Dad. He is obviously still working out the kinks -- he goes backwards twice as often as forward. :)

As soon as I get a "crawling" picture, I'll post it. I did, thankfully, catch some crawling activity on the camcorder.

And, on a not-so-happy note, he officially got my cold yesterday. :( Hoping it won't last long.

Recent visitors

Grandma Landmann came to visit us January 31st. Henry's showing her one of his favorite toys.

Grandma Allen was here on January 7th for a combination celebration of her birthday and an Allen family Christmas gathering.

Here's Henry and cousin Victoria at that same get-together.

New in Henry's world

Henry now:
  • rolls over from back to front, in addition to front to back;
  • is VERY aware and interested in all the things in his world, including: the computer keyboard, the television, the coffee maker when it's brewing and making it's cool noises, Mom's hair when it falls past her face when he's on the changing table, other children/babies, whatever is on Mom's or Dad's fork or cup, his toes, the bumper pad on his crib, the mobile over his crib, all the cool things to see (and grab for) at the grocery store while riding in the front-pack carrier on Mom, Mom's glasses, ceiling fans that are spinning, and many of his toys and books;
  • loves eating most all the baby food we've tried, and a few strange and/or spicy things Dad has tried (lemon juice, mild salsa);
  • is very ticklish under his chin and on his tummy;
  • loves playing in his Johnny Jump Up; and
  • babbles to himself in bed before he falls asleep.
Tom and I continue to be amazed at all the changes in Henry's young little life. He just keeps on surprising us.

Henry's dedication

(Sorry for being so tardy on this!) On November 27th, 2005, Tom and I had a dedication service for Henry at our church, Cornerstone Church of Spring Green. It was a special time, with many family and friends there to help us celebrate the gift God gave us.

Henry, in the baptismal gown that has been in my family for a couple of generations, and I.

Our pastor, Derek Miller, Henry, Tom, and I. Looks like Henry is reading along with Derek!
